DYNDOLOD (ULTRA)

DYNDOLOD WITH 3D TREE LOD

DynDOLOD configured to generate 3D tree LOD will drastically improve the appearance of distant trees at a moderate performance cost. Note that you should have a minimum of 4GB VRAM if you want to go for 3D tree LOD.

PREPARATIONS

  • Find your DynDOLOD_SSE.ini under {Your Modding Folder}\Tools\DynDOLOD v2.x\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD and open it in Notepad.
  • Edit the following line and set the value to 0:
    • TreeLOD=0
  • Save and close DynDOLOD_SSE.ini.
  • The folder{Your Modding Folder}\Tools\DynDOLOD v2.x\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\cache must be emtpy (delete everything inside).

TEXGEN

  • Launch TexGenx64 through Mod Organizer 2.
  • Check the recommended settings below.
  • After adapting them, hit Start.
  • The generation will take a while (about 10mins for me) and I recommend you step away from your PC in the meantime.

TEXGEN OUTPUT

  • Once TexGen is done, click Save and Exit.
  • Got to {Your Modding Folder}\Tools\DynDOLOD.
  • Cut (don’t copy) the TexGen_output folder and paste it to Mod Organizer 2\mods.
  • Refresh (F5) Mod Organizer 2 and it will appear at the bottom of your load order.
  • Move it up in your mod order all the way until it’s right below Skyrim High Definition LODs and activate it.

DYNDOLOD

  • Launch DynDOLOD through MO2.
  • A window will come up, click Advanced.
  • You can see all worldspaces in a list at the top. Right-click inside and click Select all.
  • Next, select a preset – Medium or High.
  • In the center list – containing the mesh lodgen rules – scroll all the way down to tree.
  • Double-click tree and apply these settings.
  • Under Options, Generate tree LOD should be unchecked and greyed out.
  • Double-check with the picture below that everything is configured correctly.
  • Click OK.
  • Step away from your PC while DynDOLOD is working.

DYNDOLOD OUTPUT

  • Once DynDOLOD is done, click Save and Exit.
  • Got to {Your Modding Folder}\Tools\DynDOLOD.
  • Cut (don’t copy) the DynDOLOD_output folder and paste it to Mod Organizer 2\mods.
  • Refresh (F5) Mod Organizer 2 and it will appear at the bottom of your load order.
  • Place it below the DISTANT TERRAIN separator, below the xLODGen [Output], and activate it.
  • Move DynDOLOD.esm below your other ESMs at the top of your load order and leave DynDOLOD.esp at the very bottom.
