FOMOD instructions

Select the ESP+BSA version.

Choose any preset you like (I prefer SkyHUD Default).

Be sure to select the iHUD patch if you use that mod.

Customizing SkyHUD

It’s extremely easy to change most elements of SkyHUD to suit your taste by editing SkyHUD.txt under interface/skyhud. Use this guide by the mod author – it’s slightly outdated but still very useful.

These are the changes that I usually make after selecting the SkyHUD Default preset in the FOMOD:

bHiddenStealthText=1no more ‘hidden / detected’

bHideEnemyMarker=1no more enemy GPS

bHideLocations=1already discovered locations are not displayed on the compass

HideUndiscoveredLocations=1undiscovered locations are not displayed on the compass

In addition to that, all HUD elements are smaller, the compass has a slim design and the arrow display has been re-designed. Those changes are made by the SkyHUD Default preset.

by SkyAmigo

Requires SKSE64 and SkyUI.

Download and install the main file.

Customization and presets

You can customize your HUD clock ingame through the MCM and – if you also installed FISSES – save or import presets.

My own preset is slightly tweaked, with a sleeker clock symbol design to fit the new SkyHUD compass, plus it is smaller, more transparent and closer to the upper left corner of the monitor. The actual clock has been moved closer to the symbol and displays the ingame time (24h). All this can of course be edited in MCM. Download my preset here and install as usual. This requires FISSES.

A Quality World Map
by IcePenguin & Chesko

highly recommended

Download and install one of the VIVID or CLASSIC style options of the main files and the optional file 'Clear Map Skies'.

Why the Paper Map option is not supported

While this is the best implementation of a paper map for Skyrim yet, there are a few reasons why I cannot truly recommend it: First, map markers appear to float – this issue is discussed in greater length on the mod page by Chesko. Secondly, all other maps (for Solstheim and any mod-added landmass) will obviously not have the same paper look so there is a certain inconsistency to consider. And thirdly, the paper world map plugin edits the Tamriel parent worldspace record directly unlike the VIVID / CLASSIC options, meaning it must be patched for a number of mods that also touch the same record (for most of them it is enough to simply place the plugin at the bottom of the load order but some mods will require tiny, annoying patches).

Porting instructions - Vivid with Stone Roads option

The plugin for the ‘Vivid with Stone Roads’ option has not yet been re-saved in the new Creation Kit as you can see by checking the File Header in xEdit: it shows form version 43. To re-save the plugin now, follow these instructions:

  1. Launch the Creation Kit through Mod Organizer 2. If you are asked to unpack the Scripts.zip, select No.
  2. Once the Creation Kit is launched, select ‘File > Data…’ and in the window that comes up, tick Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dragonborn.esm and IcePenguinWorldMap.esp.
  3. Select IcePenguinWorldMap.esp and hit Set as Active File. Then click OK.
  4. The Creation Kit will now load up your plugin. This may take a while. Click ‘Yes to All’ for any error window that comes up.
  5. When it’s done, close the Warning window (if there is one) and select ‘File > Save’, then close the Creation Kit. The updated plugin is now located inside your MO2 Overwrite folder.
  6. (Optional) Check your plugin in xEdit for the correct form version (44).

Font replacer: Not compatible with other font replacer mods, choose one. Fertigo Pro is highly recommended.

Credits

This is a collection of three mods (two of them from Classic Skyrim). All of them granted free sharing permissions on the mod pages. I compiled all options that were made available on the mod pages for the FOMOD. No porting steps were necessary since Classic Skyrim interface files are compatible with Skyrim SE out of the box. I also went ahead and took screenshots for all options. You can find them both in the FOMOD and in the ‘pictures’ folder within the mod archive.

SMALLER CURSOR

Download and install:
- Clean Menu -- All in One (30FPS)

Additional notes

This mod has not been updated for the Creation Club releases for Skyrim SE. That means it still contains the old interface files for the main menu – no CC news, no CC menu option. I prefer that actually, but be aware that you will not be able to access the CC at all unless you temporarily disable this mod.

Not recommended for widescreen users.

Did you install No More Creation Club News during the Core? If so, you can disable that mod now as it gets overwritten by Clean Menu anyway.
